NetSpot is a great network program for Windows that is quite useful when it comes to finding out more about wireless access points, placing them and repeaters, setting them up, and making sure they run at peak capacity. From there, it is a matter of selecting one or several of the wireless access points NetSpot found to find out how their reception is in different parts of the map. Repeat the process until you have been in every room or place. To survey the wireless reception, simply tap or click on the screen and wait a few seconds for the program to record it, then move and tap again to do the same at another location. You may load a building map or use a blank page instead, with the former looking prettier and improving orientation. Probably the most interesting option of NetSpot for Windows is the survey option which you use to map Wi-Fi reception in a building (or outside). What's interesting about the feature is that you can select other networks on the discovery page of NetSpot to get their values added to the graph, table and frequency overlay as well which makes it very easy to compare them with each other. For as long as NetSpot runs the scans, information about the access points are recorded by it which become useful when you access the history feature of it.Įach wireless access point is listed with a wealth of information including its SSID and BSSID, signal strength, band, channel and width, vendor, security, mode that it runs in, and the time it was last seen by the scanner.Ī click on any of the access points displays its information history that includes signal strength as a graph and table, and 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi frequencies. The scanning is set to an interval of five seconds by default which you can change at the bottom of the screen. It scans the area automatically for wireless access points, and lists all that it finds in the interface. NetSpot opens the Discover page on start. The program is only available as a net installer which requires an Internet connection during installation on a local Windows machine. The majority of those limitations are usually not that much of a problem for non-commercial uses of NetSpot, except for the additional visualization options maybe. It has a couple of functional limitations when compared to the Pro or Enterprise versions, namely less visualizations, smaller survey areas, lack of advanced reporting options and other features for business use. This free version can be used non-commercially only, and is good for one zone file per project. The Windows version of the program is only available as a free version currently. NetSpotĪ software like NetSpot offers several advantages over walking around with your mobile device in an attempt to find out where you may want to place a wireless repeater to improve reception. If you are using wireless Internet at home, you probably know that reception can differ a lot depending on the room you are in and other factors, such as other wireless access points in the vicinity.Įven in the same room, reception may be good at one end of the room and not so good anymore at another, and while you can use trial and error to find out about that, it is not really something that works well if you are not using the right tools for the job.

Initially, VisuAlgo was not designed for small touch screens like smartphones, as intricate algorithm visualizations required substantial pixel space and click-and-drag interactions. While primarily designed for National University of Singapore (NUS) students enrolled in various data structure and algorithm courses (e.g., CS1010/equivalent, CS2040/equivalent (including IT5003), CS3230, CS3233, and CS4234), VisuAlgo also serves as a valuable resource for inquisitive minds worldwide, promoting online learning. Suhendry Effendy - VisuAlgo remains the exclusive platform for visualizing and animating several of these complex algorithms even after a decade. Steven Halim's book, 'Competitive Programming' - co-authored with Dr. Initially conceived in 2011 by Associate Professor Steven Halim, VisuAlgo aimed to facilitate a deeper understanding of data structures and algorithms for his students by providing a self-paced, interactive learning platform.įeaturing numerous advanced algorithms discussed in Dr. PS2: There is an alternative way to implement an efficient Queue using two Stacks. PS1: If you understand amortized analysis, this heavy O( N) cost when the circular array is full can actually be spread out so that each enqueue remains O( 1) in amortized sense. However, if we do not know the upper bound of queue size, we can enlarge (double) the size of the array, e.g., make M = 2*8 = 16 (two-times larger), but that will entail re-copying the items from index front to back in a slow (but rare) O( N) process to have, front = 0, and back = 7. At this point ( front = (back+1) % M)), we cannot enqueue anything else.ĭo note that if we know that our queue size will never exceed the fixed array size M, then the circular array idea is actually already a good way to implement Queue ADT. A few more enqueue operations later, we may have, front = 5, and back = 4. Yet, this does not solve the main problem of fixed-size array implementation. The free version of Slack does not give you access to every app, and none of the paid tiers do either. If you want to add more than 10 applications to your current Slack, you’ll need to upgrade or get rid of some of your existing tools. You’ll end up paying way more than you originally planned if you don’t upgrade. If you don’t upgrade your plan, your messages will start disappearing after just a few days. If each of them sends 10,000 messages a month, you’ll hit the cap in no time. With 10 team members, you can expect to exchange 3,000 messages each week. The free version of Slack gives you a lot - but you can only access the most recent 10,000 messages from your workspaces. This can be a dealbreaker for some teams so let’s look closely at the details. While these features are important, they may not be enough for some users who require more comprehensive functionality.Īs you can see, Free Slack is very limited. These features allow you to search your history of messages, integrate your other apps, and make audio and video calls from within the app. The Slack Free plan includes several important features, albeit in limited form. The free version, however, only offers a few features with limited functionality. Since its launch, Slack has always had a freemium model. Let’s break down what each plan in Slack has to offer. For users who need more advanced features, Slack offers premium memberships with access to third-party app integrations and more. The free plan provides access to basic features such as searchable messages and screen sharing. Slack offers a variety of membership plans to fit the needs of any user. Some of these are less expensive, while others cost a bit more.īecause most competing products offer the same functionality, it’s fair to ask whether or not it’s worthwhile to pay for a paid version of Slack. There are 20+ alternatives to Slack that provide the same functionalities as what it offers. The pricing for the Enterprise plan is only available through their sales team. Slack offers four pricing tiers: Free, Pro ($8), Business+ ($15), and Enterprise. Slack typically charges a monthly subscription fee that is based on the number of users on the account, as well as the number of features used.įor example, a small team that only uses the basic features of Slack may pay $8 per user per month, while a larger team that uses more advanced features may pay $15 per user per month. Pricing is dependent on the specific features and usage of each customer. If you’re trying to search how much does Slack cost per user, well you won’t find any. Is Slack Worth the Price?: How Much Does Slack Cost Per User? In this blog post, I’ll share everything I learned about the pricing of Slack so that you can make an informed decision about whether or not Slack worth the Price. After doing some research, I found out that Slack’s Business+ plan is very reasonably priced and offers a lot of features that are perfect for businesses. However, I wasn’t sure if it was worth the price tag. Have you ever wondered how much does Slack cost per user? I’m a big fan of the app and use it regularly for work communication. Lipomas: These are most commonly found in overweight dogs - they are benign tumors consisting of soft and smooth clumps of fat cells that can grow very large, found most often around the chest, abdomen and front legs. They can often disappear, even without treatment. Histiocytomas: These small, hard and dome shaped benign growths often appear in younger dogs on their head, ear flaps or legs.Read on to learn about some of the different types of tumors and where they might form on your dog's body: A tumor, simply, is a mass of tissue that forms as the result of the accumulation of abnormal cells. However, not all tumors are cancerous, and even those that are can still be treated. The word tumor is one of the scariest words a pet parent can hear. Other types of bumps can form from different types of allergic reactions. Hives and Other Allergic Reactions: Hives are itchy, swollen pockets of skin as the result of allergic reaction. These can be tender, but often fade within a couple of days or weeks. Injection-Site Reactions: Following an injection, your dog may develop a small knot beneath the skin.Hematomas: These occur when blood accumulates beneath the skin following a trauma. They may also rupture, which often helps clear them up. Apocrine Cysts: These cysts are caused by obstructed skin glands. They are often painful and can contain large amounts of blood and pus with the possibility of rupturing. Abscesses: These are lumps that form as a result of an infection from a bite, wound or foreign object.Below are some of the more common skin growths on dogs: Skin GrowthsĪ skin growth is a benign (non-cancerous) lump of tissue that projects out from the surrounding skin. Common Types of Lumps on DogsĪs Petco mentions, lumps or bumps can often be categorized into two classifications: skin growths and tumors. However, biopsies are usually performed at a vet's office and your dog should be able to return home the same day. This is a more invasive procedure than a fine needle aspirate and might require sedation or anesthesia. While a fine needle aspirate is usually helpful, in some cases, with particular types of masses, your vet may need to take a larger biopsy and excise tissue with a scalpel or punch blade. Or, your vet may send out the slides to a laboratory to have them reviewed by a specialist. Depending on the type of mass, the vet may be able to diagnose it quickly. The cells are placed on glass slides and stained for microscopic review. They may recommend a fine needle aspirate and cytology - one of the least invasive procedures to evaluate a lump or bump, during which a vet uses a small needle to collect cells. Your vet will need to take some tests to accurately diagnose your dog's lump. Even noncancerous masses can worsen and get infected if you wait too long to bring your dog in for treatment. Even if your dog is due for an exam in a few months, don't wait. Google provides a wealth of pet health information, it's easy to go down a rabbit hole of misinformation and panic. The best thing you can do if you discover a bump on your dog is to schedule an appointment with the vet. "What should I do if I find a lump on my dog?" It's a common question pet parents ask. A dog's lumps and bumps can change over time, and keeping a log of their locations and sizes will help your vet more effectively manage your dog's health. Grab your phone to snap a quick photo or two. If you find a mass on your dog, make sure to note where it is, and not just mentally. Chances are your pooch will enjoy these extra pets and rubs. Make sure to hone in on commonly overlooked spots, like between the toes, under the tail and even in your dog's mouth - if they're cooperative. Establish a weekly routine of inspecting your dog from the tip of their nose to the end of their tail. By regularly examining your dog's skin, you can take a lead role in caring for their health. Skin tumors are the most commonly seen tumor in dogs, reports the Merck Veterinary Manual. The most important thing for you to do is stay alert to any lumps on your pooch and let your veterinarian know about them that way, they can determine if treatment is necessary. A lump or bump can even be as simple as an inflamed hair follicle. While dogs can develop cancerous tumors, if you find a growth on your dog's skin, many are treatable. If you find yourself worrying about finding a lump on your dog or wondering what the lump under your dog's skin is, try not to panic - there are many possible causes for lumps on your pet. Another option for gentler mouthwash is to make your own at home. Most commercial natural mouthwash formulas include essential oils, salt, herbs such as echinacea and calendula, mint and aloe vera. Natural mouthwash formulas are made without the use of alcohol or fluoride but can have the same benefits of those that do. Many people have difficulties with alcohol or object to using chemicals in their daily lives. If this happens, it can be reversed in your dentist’s office. Antiseptic mouthwash can help to heal mouth sores and make your breath smell better, but it’s best used for only short lengths of time. This chemical prevents the growth of bacteria in the mouth. ANTISEPTIC MOUTHWASHįor people with halitosis or certain types of mouth infections, antiseptic mouthwashes containing chlorhexidine gluconate can help. A little bit goes a long way with fluoride. Too much fluoride can lead to brittle bones and increased fractures, encourage certain thyroid problems and even cause pregnant women to give birth to children with lower IQ scores. With community water being fluoridated and many toothpaste formulas including it as well, it’s very easy to ingest more than the recommended amount. The problem with this product is that it’s possible to have too much fluoride. Fluoride mouthwash has this chemical as part of its formula, with the aim of helping to keep teeth healthy. Sodium fluoride is a chemical that helps to fight tooth decay, toughening teeth in the process. When used right after brushing, cosmetic mouthwash is great for rinsing away loose food particles, but it doesn’t have any actual germ-killing properties. When you’re simply looking for something to make your breath smell fresher, cosmetic mouthwash is what you need. There is a wide range of over-the-counter and prescription mouthwashes to choose from your prosthodontist will help you to pick the right one for your dental needs. Depending on their ingredients, some are more effective than others for taking care of certain oral hygiene problems. What type of mouthwash should you be using? After brushing and flossing, using mouthwash can give your mouth a nice, clean finish. The only benefit I'm gather from this "LA argument" is that bands get to "showcase" their talent at places they can allegedly get "noticed". If u'r not getting paid to play, it means u don't have an audience.most likely because ur music sucks & u need more practice. Why? People are supposed to be paying you to perform, not the other way around. I don't EVER see myself paying to play somewhere, it's almost immoral to me. Is it a good deal for a band? Yes, it can be, IF you need a prestigous place to showcase your band in L.A. They hafta pay some guards, two bartenders, and a small office staff - that's an amazing profit. That's over three and a half million dollars a year, guaranteed. For those with poor accounting skills, that's $70,000 a week, $300,000 a month, and $3,650,000 a year. That's pretty much $10,000+ for one night, every night, seven days a week, 52 weeks a year. And they know that at least 250 to 300 people will show up that night, all buying at least one $5 to $10 drink, another $1,500 to $2,500 or more in bar receipts. So, before they even open their doors, they have between $6,250 and $7,500 guaranteed for the night. Each band must buy 50 tickets (at $25 each) to get on the bill at the Whiskey. Here's how it works: Let's say you're a group and you wanna play the Whiskey (as a showcase, or you've invited record companies to hear you, or you wanna start a buzz about your band). It's a sweet deal - for the Whisky, anyway. I went to the Whisky A-Go-Go on a Thursday night and there weren't the usual long lines that I remembered from when I use to play there. last month, but I thought some of you might want to hear about how "Pay To Play" works in L.A. I was gonna talk about some of the new stuff at the NAMM show in L.A. From February, 2004: Pay To Play - How It Works In L.A. As the city loses tax base and tourist revenues while gaining pathologies and street crime, they predict the end is near. Ron DeSantis, and many other critics persistently push an exaggerated portrait of the city as a hellhole, where car thefts and fentanyl deaths, corporate flight, and retail closings fuel a so-called Doom Loop. Of course, parts of downtown San Francisco do face huge social problems-homelessness, drug addiction, shoplifting invasions. It’s important to remember the things that made, and make, San Francisco great-not for the sake of nostalgia or adolescent literature, but to ensure that a dark fog of disdain doesn’t block out everything else. I fear that San Francisco has gotten such a bad rap-borne of an often brutal, and mainly conservative, narrative about the city-that people have lost sight of its unerasable allures, and its irreplaceable spot in American history and culture. It’s a depiction that pushes back against the rampant San Francisco bashing in vogue today. The little paperback’s romantic portrayal of the City by the Bay grabbed me and never let go. Whitney, led me to develop an affection for that distant, hilly city on the Pacific coast: San Francisco. One book in particular, Mystery of the Green Cat by Phyllis A. Children’s and young adult literature let me imagine independence-meeting new people and exploring different places on my own. My family often visited nearby Manhattan but that was still off-limits for solo wandering. Those novels took me places, out of my crowded, insular hometown. I read them in bed or in a park, on winter nights or summer days. Best of all, they usually had nothing to do with schoolwork. A few weeks later, paperbacks arrived at school in wondrous boxes. I would carefully select books from a paper form distributed in class. For a young bookworm like me in 1960s New Jersey, almost nothing was more exciting in elementary school than ordering my own paperbacks from the Scholastic Book catalog. |
